Subsidy recipients
Parents (2) of children (1) who meet all of the following requirements are eligible for the subsidy.
(1) Requirements for children
- ①Elementary and junior high school students living in Tokyo who do not attend school
- ②Attending a free school etc. during the day (including those planning to attend)
*Use only at night or on holidays is not eligible.
(2) Requirements for guardians
- ①Parent of the child residing in Tokyo (or guardian of a minor if there is no parent)
*There are other cases that are eligible, so if none of these apply to you, please contact our office. - ②Those who are paying the usage fee for free schools, etc.
- ③Those who can communicate on a daily basis with the school where the child is enrolled.
*If ② and ③ are different people, you can apply by providing the name of ③.

You will be required to submit documents such as a confirmation of free school enrollment.
- A daycare facility whose main purpose is to support students who are not attending school
- Striving for the healthy development of children
- Ability to cooperate and collaborate with the school and board of education in which the child is enrolled
- Be able to report your child's monthly attendance status to the school
- Facilities that are open not only at night or on holidays
- Proper information is provided to parents regarding the operation status and fee structure.
- Facilities that are not intended only for relatives of the facility operator
- Be able to agree to hearings and on-site inspections by the Tokyo Metropolitan Government
- The primary purpose of the activity is not political or religious activity.
- Facilities that are not operated by an organized crime group, and there are no members of an organized crime group.
Subsidy amount
We will subsidize up to 20,000 yen for usage fees for free schools, etc.
* Registration fees, facility maintenance fees, teaching materials fees, etc. are not included.

If the monthly usage fee is 30,000 yen (tax included)

Self-payment
Of the 30,000 yen usage fee, the maximum subsidy amount will be 20,000 yen.
case 2
If the monthly usage fee is 15,000 yen (tax included)
Subsidy amount
Since the usage fee is less than 20,000 yen per month, the usage fee will be the subsidy amount.
*If you are receiving a subsidy from a source other than the Tokyo Metropolitan Government regarding usage fees for free schools, etc., you may not be eligible for this subsidy. Please contact the secretariat.
Subsidy application acceptance period
As a general rule, please apply between the 1st day of the month before the month the subsidy starts and the last day of the previous month.

You can apply retroactively for April 2024 as long as it is before the final application deadline (February 28, 2025).
However, The timing of subsidy payment differs depending on when the application was submitted.

Payment period
The subsidy will be paid quarterly.
To receive the payment, you will need to submit a usage report verified by your child's school.
